Meet the Team

Dr. Joanna Hurd earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), completed her Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, and graduated from UMKC dental school in 2005. After studying psychology and chemistry as an undergraduate at the University of Puget Sound, Dr. Francis Hurd graduated from UMKC dental school in 2005. He then spent a year working at Swope Park Health Services.

In 2006, they moved to the Boulder, CO area to work for Dental Aid, a nonprofit organization that provides dental services to underprivileged families. After three wonderful years in the Rockies, the Hurds moved back to Kansas City to be closer to family after the birth of their first daughter, Lucy.

Once back in Joanna's hometown, both doctors took over individual dental practices in Lee's Summit and Blue Springs. They have been very fortunate to maintain excellent relationships with the previous owners and returning patients. After over 5 years of practicing dentistry and after having 2 twin boys, they decided to take a leap of faith and start working together every day at one location in Lee's Summit, MO.

Both doctors have enjoyed building an true family practice and hope to continue providing services for years to come. In their free time, Joanna and Francis love spending time with their 3 children, attending Royals games and swim meets, and going fishing.
