Dental Sealants Lee's Summit, MO

Protects Teeth For Both Children And Adults

Highly effective at preventing decay on the biting surfaces of your chewing teeth, dental sealants are a simple procedure in which a tooth-colored acrylic “coating” is applied to the tooth surface. This effectively “seals” the deep grooves, acting as a barrier and protecting enamel from plaque and acids.

Sealants protect your teeth's depressions and grooves from food particles and plaque that brushing and flossing can’t reach.

Applying sealants is quick, easy, and doesn't require drilling or removing any tooth structure. After the teeth are cleaned, a special gel is placed on the chewing surfaces for a few seconds. Each tooth is then washed and dried before the sealant is painted on. Typically, we also shine a special curing light on the tooth to help harden the sealant. Routine care at Hurd Family Dental means seeing them regularly.
